Farewell to the bees in the city

After an amazing summer in Manchester featuring over 100 artfully designed bees adorning the city centre and its outskirts, the brilliant bees for Wild in Art‘s Bee in the City MCR 2018 have finally been bought by their new homes in what was an amazing auction.

The total amount raised by the Bee in the City MCR project was an outstanding £1,128,250, donated to the We Love MCR Charity!

Our stunning bee, ‘City in the Bee’ designed by the talented and popular Manchester street artist Hammo, sold for a fantastic £10,000 as the first bee to be auctioned off at the event.

We’re proud to have been sponsors of what was an incredible project that highlighted the city’s creativity and unity.

Renowned street artist, Hammo, was chosen to design the New Bailey bee, having created some of Manchester’s most recognisable murals. His distinctive design will draw inspiration from both the city and the diverse people who make it.
